Boat 617 is a Zodiac style boat, with additional resources, and is operated by our volunteer Swiftwater Rescue Team. It is one of only four Water Rescue teams that respond throughout Loudoun County.

The boat has a 40 horsepower engine and a flat front to aid in patient rescue. The patient can gently be eased into the boat and does not need to be lifted up over the boat’s sidewalls. This minimizes excess movement of the patient’s body.

The boat has already gone out on numerous calls for pond rescues and for stranded motorists on flooded roadways, and the team is ever prepared for the next call.
