Hamilton Volunteer Rescue Squad has placed into service a new utility unit, a purchase made possible by community support through its annual fund drive and donations.
Utility 617 is a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 4×4,4 door pickup with a Knapheide utility body. This specially designed unit will be used to support the Special Operation Division of the squad. It is design to tow the division’s swift water rescue boats, carry extra equipment for the heavy rescue. It will also be used to transport the division’s bike team. The cab can accommodate five emergency responders and their equipment.
The squad thanked residents and businesses for their support and donations in this project.
Star GMC of Leesburg, Shade Equipment of Winchester and Fastlane Emergency Vehicles of Purcellville helped design and build the unit.
